 Duane Michals is a well known film portrait photographer. He is known for his images that show human emotion and philosophy. In a lot of his work he includes double exposures. He has mastered the world of portrait photography and his art inspires many. The first image is one of my favorites. I am very curious as to how he accomplished this illusion. I am not sure how he faded the man with the curtain and id love to see the process that went behind this photo. It might have been a double exposure or some type of movement while the shutter lens was open. My interpretation of this photo is that it is someone fading away. The subject seems lonely and old. To me it looks as though he is reminiscing on the past and he is looking at himself in the mirror watching himself fade away. I love the second image.
